WHAT'S NEW? Central Atlanta Neighbors 2009 Accomplishments A summary of what the organziation's been up to in the last year. While CAN has been busy for 2009, there is still the need for more 'active' members for 2010. We have projects that are constantly coming before CAN that require community input AND there are areas which would benefit from CAN representation. CAN and find your favorite CAN 2009 GOALS PUBLIC SAFETY: Establish constructive partnership with Atlanta Police Dept. & active CAN participation on NPU M Safety Committee FINANCIAL: Establish positive performance of CAN’s invested funds EDUCATION: Inform & engage all CAN child development programs, public schools, & private schools in CAN neighborhood PARKS: CAN involvement in Alliance of Parks & Greenspace for NE ATL, Park Pride, & formation of Friends of Central Park COMMUNICATION: Consistent, accurate, & timely records of CAN meetings and postings to CAN membership Neighborhood volunteers are needed to work on planning/organizing upcoming neighborhood social events, help with the membership drive, communications committee and form an public safety committee.
